A Little Pick Me Up

For those of us that need a little pick me up today, keep reading.

Life can make us feel so inadequate when we mess up or face failure. Even to the point of us identifying ourselves as a failure, or as a mistake; we can even begin feeling as if there is no light at the end of the tunnel we’re going through.

Even on the stormiest of days, you can still see the rainbow in the puddles and in the sky overhead. And for me, with every rainbow comes a smile because I am reminded that everything will get better. Even if it’s not today or tomorrow, I smile because I hold fast to the hope that there are better days coming because God is with me.

One thing that I desire to do is to create a consistent habit of affirming myself daily. Affirming oneself daily, even when you don’t want to or you don’t fully believe it, has the ability to energize our spirit. It starts with a thought, and as we consistently do it, we begin to see ourselves in a greater light. Not because we’ll be living 100% without mistakes, but because in-spite of our shortcomings,we are able to see that our mess ups don’t have to destroy us, but they can become a beauty mark instead of a blemish.  Trust me. It gets better. Jesus created a masterpiece when He created you. Flaws and all, and when you begin believing in you, the beauty of Christ has the opportunity to shine brightly through you. He is not intimidated by our issues, and neither should we. But instead He embraces us, lovingly smoothing out our rough edges, opening us up to who He has really created us to be.

So today, take some time out to write down some affirmations for yourself and post them in places that you can see. In your bathroom, on your mirror, in your car, in your kitchen, wherever your eyes can go. I promise it will help to brighten your day when you read them, and it will soon transform how you think and view yourself. I have listed a few below paired with a few of my favorite scriptures, but don’t stop there; find the words that YOU need to hear. Write them down, look in the mirror, speak to yourself. Do this as often as you remember, and watch how your mind transforms! God Bless.  -Arnita Faith
